Is Caribbean music on the rise?
Caribbean's own versatile 7ighQ The Band has been chosen to compete among New York's Best Pop & Rock Bands for the 4th Annual Silver Sound Music Video Film Festival & Band Battle. The Festival will take place on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Brooklyn Bowl, 61 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn, 11211. 7ighQ The Band has been broadening their horizons and bringing an enjoyable flavor of Caribbean, Soca, Reggae, Chutney music to Urban Film Festivals on the east coast. They've competed and won at other Music Festival competitions in the past. The leader of 7ighQ The Band, Julius De Intelligent, states, "I am extremely honored that Silver Sound is very excited to have us. I am thankful for having the opportunity to spread Caribbean Culture to a broader audience."
The Silver Sound MVFF+BB is actually two simultaneous events: it is a music video festival AND a battle of the bands. They select and showcase twenty-one of the newest and best music videos and also showcase performances from five of the newest and best bands!
The director of the winning music video is paired up with the winning band. Silver Sound produces them a music video worth over $10,000.
